Below is a list of expats who have been reported as having been absent from work for more than 15 days without permission, each name will remain in the list for 30 days as part of the LMRA process of checking the veracity of any reports regarding absence from work. Anyone who is in the list should follow the steps set out immediately.
Steps to follow if your name is shown on the list
If you have been reported by your employer as having been absent from work for more than 15 working days without reasonable grounds, you must do one of the following
If you have resumed work with your employer,
request your employer to withdraw the report
check again your work visa status online at the Express Services
check you work visa status through SMS as follows:
Batelco users: dial 90168 space followed by your CPR 9-digit number,
Zain users: dial 77070 space followed by your CPR 9-digit number
If you dispute the report, come to the LMRA to record your statement. Bring proofs if you have any. The following are some (but not exhaustive) common disputes
you were NOT absent from work for 15 days,
you were absent from work but you had justifiable reasons such as (but not limited to) the following
the employer terminated your employment contract
the employer breached one or more of his legal or contractual obligations according to Bahrain Labour Law including (but not limited to) non-compliance with occupational health and safety standards
the employer has not paid your due legal and contractual rights including (but not limited to) wages which were due to you
the establishment was closed or inactive or somehow you were prevented from working
If you were indeed absent from work for 15 days without justifiable reasons
your Work Visa and Residence Permit will be cancelled
