What is LMRA’s role of the in disputes that could arise between the employee and the employer?
Any issues, problems or disputes that arise between the employee and the employer (nonpayment of salaries, leave entitlements, health and safety issues etc…) are out of LMRA’s jurisdiction, these are to be reported at the Ministry of Labour’s complaints department in Isa Town. General Information:
The employment agreement is regulated by the Private Sector Employment Act of 1976 and its amendments which ensured the rights of both parties to the contract fair, and thus any of alleged violation of these contractual rights, can be raised before the specialized courts (labour courts), that are established to look into this issues.
According to the law in question – The Department of complaints in the ministry of labour examines the possibility of resolving the dispute amicably, and if a resolution is not possible, the Ministry of Labour will then submit the case to the Labour Court to adjudicate the dispute.
