Registering at LMRA

One of the objectives of the registration of institutions, and the commercial and non-commercial establishments is to enable the LMRA to obtain data on the authorized persons permitted to use the Expat Management System (EMS) via the LMRA’s website at www.lmra.bh

Required documents:

  1. Complete the institutions / units registration application form.
  2. A copy of the latest electricity bill issued on the establishment address:
    • This bill should be paid and its issue date not older than 3 months.
    • Supply Address in the bill must match the CR’s address.
    • The bill shouldn't be a final notification to cut the electricity supply.
    • Current account guarantee deposit bonds are not accepted. (If a new CR is not yet billed, you need to upload a print- out from the electricity and water authority showing that the account had been opened or transferred to that specific CR).
    • If electricity is not your responsibility (for example: Shops in Malls, or electricity paid by the landlord) you will need to upload a proof, like the lease contract.
    • In case the electricity bill is not attached, the application would be reviewd by a special committe to review the establishment activities.
  3. A copy of the identity card of the responsible or authorized person.
  4. A letter from the establishment manager authorizing the person in charge in the establishment.

In addition to the documents referred to above, consideration must be given to provide the following documents for the noncommercial and non-governmental establishment:

Fishermen fishing boat or dhows - A copy of a valid fishing license.

Community schools (private schools), Educational or training institutions - a copy of the certificate of registration issued by the Ministry of Education / Ministry of Labour.

Private clinics, Hospitals and clinics - a copy of the certificate of registration issued by the Ministry of Health.
- the Central Informatics Organization Unit No.
Law firms and legal counseling - A copy of a law license issued by the Registrar Office in the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs.
- the Central Informatics Organization Unit No.

Other requirements:

  1. personal presence of the owner of the commercial register or establishment for the completion of the registration process and specifying the authorized persons in accordance with the stated requirements, or the presence of the person authorized by the Commercial Register or establishment Owner under the power of an official attorney by a notary.
  2. In the case of registration of companies or banks, an official letter from the Chairman of the Board of Directors or a Delegated Member, which identifies the person in charge and authorized persons to deal with the LMRA, will suffice. The letter must be indicated in the companies registration form issued from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
  3. In the case of authorizing a Document Clearance Agent, the personal presence of the company’s owner is not required, an official letter from the Chairman of the Board or from the authorized persons will suffice as per what is indicated in the company registration form issued by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and in accordance with the following conditions:
    • owns a governmental clearance office.
    • Present a valid clearance card.
  4. In the case of authorizing a Document Clearance Agent for a private institution, the personal presence of the owner of the institution is required, in accordance with the following conditions:
    •  owns a governmental clearance office.
    • Present a valid clearance card.

Time taken to approve the Request:

LMRA will be deciding on Registering an Establishment application once all the necessary and correct data and information have been submitted.
