Data Cleansing
The process of data cleansing is where the Employer match and update the foreign workers’ information in accordance with their Work visas, after registering the establishment.
Required documents:
The Employer has to provide the following documents for all his registered foreign workers:
- A valid copy of the Worker’s identity card.
- A copy of the worker’s passport containing all the information and alterations or updates as well as the page that states the father or spouse’s name (where applicable). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months, but it is highly recommended to have it valid for at least 2 years, before applying.
- A recent copy of the residence permit.
Documents required in exceptional cases:
In the case of non-conformity of the data recorded by the Employer with the LMRA’s data, the above mentioned documentation must be provided in addition to the following:

The Worker’s Residence Permit is cancelled and he/she has left Bahrain, however, his/her details in the system state the opposite

- Report to the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports & Residence to correct his / her status. |
| The Worker has absconded Work thereby violating the Permit’s conditions (Runaway) |
- A statement from the competent authority proving the reporting of the Worker missing work in violation of the Visa’s conditions (Absconding). |
| Application to cancel the Residence Permit of a worker who has left Bahrain |
- Report to the of General Directorate of Nationality, Passports & Residence, or reporting him / her as absconding work in violation of the Permit’s conditions (Runaway). |
Time taken to update the information:
LMRA will be deciding on the exceptional cases once all requirements have been met.
