Participation & Public Consultation

Based on the Labour Market Regulation law (Law no. 19 of 2006, Article 5), "The ‎authority shall carry Consultations with public and relevant parties, ‎with a view to take their opinions, before issuing any decision or ‎taking such measures". The LMRA is also bound to guarantee access to information and received opinions for all. Then the comments are raised to the Board of Directors.

Any public consultation will be available and announced on the LMRA website for the ease of access.

Furthermore, the LMRA website offers different ways of public participation. Often polls take place on the LMRA website and site visitors can cast their votes on a certain subject or opinion. (Homepage - Cast your Vote Block)
Visitors also have the opportunity to rate the authority’s service quality and submit suggestions through the website (Are we doing well?), then the quality department collects the results and suggestions and prepare a monthly quality of service report and our KPIs and submits it to the management for further improvements.

The LMRA cares about the environment as much as it cares about the labour market. A healthy, clean and pollution free environment is the base for a strong economy and labour market where business can develop and employees can innovate.

The LMRA has taken the steps to reduce it CO2 emission by using less electricity and encouraging its employees to conserve power and water.
The LMRA has taken other initiatives that reduces CO2 emission by offering an alternative method to apply for its services such as the Online system. Employers don’t have to leave their offices to apply for a work visa or any other application, it can all be done online through the internet.

A typical new work visa application would need about 5 different documents. Last year LMRA have issued more than 110,000 new work visas, saving 550,000 paper sheets. LMRA offers many other services, image how much it is saving each year.
